CT State Senate Ready to Vote on BPA Bill & We Need Your Support To Win
Connecticut's legislation HB 6572 to phase out the hormone disruptor BPA from food and beverage containers passed the CT House 128-14 in favor, with strong support from both sides of the aisle. The bill will likely be voted on in the Senate early next week, so now is the time to call your State Senator and ask him or her to co-sponsor and support the bill with no amendments.
Connecticut is poised to lead the nation once again on toxic chemical policy reform and we are pulling out all the stops to get this bill to the Governor's desk as quickly as possible. But, with dozens of high-paid plastics and chemical industry lobbyists working against us each and every day, we can't do this without your help.
Find out how to contact your State Senator and then use our helpful calling script. Ask your State Senator to co-sponsor and support House Bill 6572 and make sure it passes without amendments. Every phone call makes a difference and it will only take a couple of minutes!

Other Ways to Get Active
Join the Media Response Team
The news media is a key way we can get our perspective on replacing toxic chemicals with safer alternatives out to the public. If you would be willing to write letters to newspapers every few weeks, we will send you regular emails with talking points to help you respond. Email Sarah Uhl to join the team.

Clean Water Action is looking for help at our office in Hartford's fashionable West End with database entry, media tracking, phone banking and other tasks. If you are interested in volunteering a few hours on a regular basis, please email Chris Corcoran or call us at 860-232-6232
Protect our Health
As the European Union and other parts of the world surpass the U.S. on chemical safety regulations, Connecticut needs comprehensive new laws to ensure that our state does not become a dumping ground for toxic products that other countries don’t allow to be sold.
Passing comprehensive policies to protect our health takes grassroots power, and we are working to build the base we need to win. Last year we sponsored over 40 forums and house parties on topics like green cleaning, safe cosmetics, and toxic toys. As we continue to win and get stronger, so does the opposition, so we invite you to join us and help us demostrate the need for smart changes. We also invite you to learn more by hosting a film showing or talk with your faith or community group, or inviting us to your home for a green cleaning or healthy spa party. To find out more about our campaigns and ways to get involved, contact Sarah Uhl 860-232-6322, suhl@cleanwater.org.
